The Challenge

The challenge

The key technical challenge was delivering specialist fire doors with anti-ligature ironmongery and full BM TRADA sign-off in a building designed for vulnerable children with complex needs.

The building itself was also tight for space, so sequencing and workface management were important. The main contractor's project manager programmed the works particularly well, allowing the specialist packages to progress efficiently.

Our Approach

Our approach

CJ combined fire-door compliance controls with close coordination to Sewell's programme.

The team focused on correct specialist ironmongery installation, certification evidence and careful sequencing within the tight building footprint, while also responding to pipe boxing, kitchen alterations and other finishing variations.

Outcome

CJ achieved the required BM TRADA sign-off and completed the wider joinery package successfully.

The strongest aspect of the job was the combination of specialist fire-door compliance and good programme coordination in a constrained, sensitive facility.
