London
Student Accommodation

Project overview

The Angel Lane refurbishment upgraded communal and amenity spaces within a busy Unite Students residence. The wider project was valued at approximately £2.3m and was delivered by Project Interiors.

CJ's package had to fit around residents' day-to-day use of the building, with restricted access, limited working windows and tightly controlled material movements.

The Challenge

The challenge

The main challenge was working inside a live, occupied student residence. Access was tight, working hours were restricted and materials had to be brought through the building without disrupting residents.

The works also included visually prominent wall panelling and amenity-space joinery, so maintaining finish quality while working around operational constraints was essential.

Our Approach

Our approach

CJ coordinated closely with Project Interiors and the site team so work areas, access and material movements could be planned around the residence.

The team's strengths on the project were the combination of resident-aware working, careful logistics and a high-quality finish to the feature wall panelling and joinery.

Outcome

CJ completed the package successfully within the live environment and to the required standard. The finished communal spaces provided a more welcoming and functional environment for residents.

The project demonstrates CJ Joinery Contracts' ability to deliver detailed commercial joinery in occupied accommodation where logistics, communication and finish quality are all critical.
